As you can see, we've got a lot going on at home above our head.
That's right, we're getting a new roof (at least the back half of the house is). The green shingles are being torn off to make way for a seamless membrane designed to withstand the snow and dissuade any ice build up.
After the 1865 brick chimney succumbed to the ravages of time, moisture and a poorly done concrete facade we decided to have a new red brick one built in its place. The mason finished it last night just minutes before an enormous thunderstorm hit.It is so beautiful and the brick adds so much more character to the roof line. I'm hoping to reuse the old bricks as an edging in the vegetable garden.

In the garden just off the kitchen we've got Stargazer lilies in full bloom.Their scent is almost intoxicating.
The purple and white cone flowers have filled around the lillies, and the Sungold cherry tomatoes are ripening.Cue basil, fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar.
I love, love, love this time of year.
Could time please start to slow down a teeny, tiny little bit though?
