On Friday morning we walked about a block from the
Intercontinental to our new digs at the Mosser Hotel. The Mosser is a
turn of the 20th century building with tons of charm and character.
Our room is about the size of the shower we had at the
Intercontinental but it has everything we need. A comfy bed, nice
natural light and a bay window that opens (there's no AC!), a comfy
chair, free coffee in the morning and free wifi. As soon as we were
settled we headed out to explore.
The weather is absolutely fabulous - 65 degrees,
sunny and breezy. Warm in the sun and cool in the shade. The harbor
is stunning and the views are to die for. Can we just stay here
forever?
The city is so vibrant and the people here are so
friendly.
We've seen some impressive acts and heard some
outrageously good
(and bad) music from the street performers.
The homeless are also friendly and entertaining. I
mean come on, how could we not contribute?
Yesterday we had a cable car ride up,
and up
and up
and then down
and down
and down to Fisherman's wharf.
There was a long walk along the harbor and out on the
piers,
and an hour-long boat ride took us under the Golden
Gate Bridge
and around Alcatraz.
We had dinner at the Crab House on Pier 39,
and a cable car ride home.
We don't know what day it is and have stopped paying
attention to the time.
Ahhhhhhhh......
